Mathematics

The department of Mathematics of D. R. M. Science college was started in the year 1958. It has two laboratories equipped with 26 computers and one LCD Projector to cater the needs of present students. It has one permanent and three faculty members appointed by the management. The department offers the programmes like PCM and PMCs for I B.Sc. according to SEP, for II B.Sc., and III B.Sc., as per NEP department offers PM, CM, MCs combinations.

Objectives

To remedy Math phobia through authentic learning based on hands-on experience with computers.
To foster experimental, problem-oriented and discovery learning of Mathematics.
To provide greater scope for individual participation in the process of learning and becoming autonomous learners.
To help the student build interest and confidence in learning the subject.

Mission

To develop a spirit of inquiry in the student.
To improve the perspective of students on mathematics as per modern requirement.
To orient students towards relating Mathematics to applications.

Teaching methodology

Classes conducted by using ICT facility.
Class seminars by students.
Assignment writing, revision and giving more examples on different topics.
Discussion on previous question papers.
Interaction with the students in the classrooms.
