About Chemistry Department
The Department of Chemistry was started in our Bapuji Educational Association in the academic year 1957-58 by offering B.Sc. Degree programme for PCM and CBZ combinations. The department of Chemistry has a good infrastructure and we have very spacious and well established laboratories for each Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.
The department at present has six permanent highly qualified faculty and dedicated staff provide an ideal environment for the teaching-learning process and actively involved in research and have published research papers in national and international journals. All the lecturers have attended and keep attending conferences and seminars/workshops of interest related to their field.
The department is offering National Education policy-2020 (NEP) from the academic year 2021-22 and also State Education Policy with Continuous Assessment Grading Pattern (CAGP) wherein the students will be undergoing a continuous process of learning, assessment and evaluation which facilitates the students not only to abreast the knowledge but also to study some non-chemistry subjects also of their choice.
In addition to academic activities, the department organizes Conference/ Seminar/ Workshop/ Special Lecture, etc. for the benefit of the students. The department as a whole is working for the betterment of the students in particular and society in general.

The department focuses on the overall development of the student by organizing programmes related to both curricular and co-curricular aspects as given here.
1. Acquire knowledge, abilities and insight in well-defined area of research within Chemistry
2. Examine specific phenomena theoretically and/or experimentally, contribute to the generation of new scientific insights or to the innovation of new applications of research in Chemistry.
3. Organizes Guest Lectures, Conferences, Webinars by renowned speakers to keep them updated on the latest developments in the field
4. Organizes Career guidance and Alumni interactions by providing a platform for the proud alumni of the college to interact with the student community for exchanging the academic and corporate experiences.
5. Organizes Workshops to provide hands on experience
6. Encourages Students to take up Internships and organizes Field Visits to Chemical /Pharmaceutical industries for exposure on instrumentation in QC and R&D
7. Faculty of the department guide students in Student Research projects and to take up Summer Research Fellowships
